Why Sectira needs no cookie banner by default, and how to recognise returning visitors with consent.

No cookies by default

By default the Sectira tag sets no cookies and stores nothing in the visitor's browser, so you don't need a cookie banner for it. Visitors are counted with an anonymous hash that rotates every day.

Recognise returning visitors

If you collect consent, you can turn on Recognise returning visitors in Website settings. The tag then stores a random ID in the browser, only for visitors who have given consent.

Tell the tag about consent in one of two ways: add data-persistent="true" to the tag when the visitor has already agreed, or call this from your consent tool:

sectira('consent', true);

No personal details

Sectira doesn't collect names, email addresses or anything typed into forms. Read the full privacy policy and how we keep data safe on the security page.
