Terms of Service
Last updated: October 20, 2026
The rules for using Sectira, written to be read. If anything is unclear, email support@sectira.com before you sign up.
About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Sectira (“Sectira”, “we”, “us”) for your use of the Sectira website analytics service, the app at app.sectira.com, the tracking tag and related services (together, the “Service”).
By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you use Sectira for a company or other organisation, you confirm that you can accept these terms on its behalf, and “you” means that organisation. You must be at least 16 years old to use Sectira.
Your account
- Give accurate details when you sign up and keep your email address up to date, since we use it to reach you about your account.
- Keep your password and sign-in methods secure. You are responsible for activity in your account, including by teammates you invite.
- As the workspace owner you decide who joins your workspace and which role they have. Teammates see the websites in your workspace according to their role.
- Tell us straight away at support@sectira.com if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.
Free trial
Every new account starts with a 14-day free trial of the Pro plan. No payment details are needed for the trial and you will not be charged unless you choose a plan.
When the trial ends, your reports pause until you subscribe to Pro or Premium. Your websites, settings and collected data are kept, subject to our Privacy Policy, so you can continue where you left off. If subscribing is temporarily unavailable when your trial ends, your access continues until it is available again, and we will tell you by email before anything changes. We may limit trials to one per person or organisation.
Plans, billing and renewal
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, in US dollars. Current prices and limits are on our pricing page.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you authorise us, through Stripe, to charge your payment method at the start of each billing period until you cancel.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- Prices do not include any sales tax, VAT or similar tax that may apply to you. If we are required to collect such a tax, we will show it to you before you pay.
- Each plan has limits, such as the number of websites, monthly page views and teammates. If you regularly exceed them, we will ask you to move to a plan that fits. We will not delete your data because you went over a limit.
- We may change prices. For existing subscriptions, a new price applies from your next renewal after we have given you at least 30 days' notice by email. If you do not agree, you can cancel before it takes effect.
- If a payment fails, we will let you know and Stripe will retry. If it still cannot be collected, we may pause or downgrade your account until it is paid.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time from the billing page in the app. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and you will not be charged again. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also withdraw from a new subscription within 14 days of your first payment and receive a full refund, as described in the Refund Policy.
Acceptable use
You may only add the Sectira tag to websites you own or are authorised to manage. You agree not to:
- use the Service in breach of any law, including privacy, data protection and consumer protection laws;
- send Sectira special categories of personal data (such as health, financial account or government ID details), or personal data such as names or email addresses in page paths, custom events or event properties;
- use Sectira to track people across websites you do not control, or try to identify individual visitors;
- send fake or automated traffic to the collector, overload the Service, or interfere with its security;
- try to access other customers' data or any part of the Service you are not allowed to use;
- copy, resell or rebuild the Service, except for white-label use by Premium workspaces with their own clients as the product allows;
- use Ask AI to generate content unrelated to your website's analytics, or try to get around its limits.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules or put the Service or other customers at risk. Where we can, we will contact you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
Your data
You own the data you and your websites send to Sectira (“Customer Data”). You give us permission to store and process it only to provide, secure and support the Service for you. We do not sell Customer Data or use it for advertising.
For personal data about visitors to your websites, you are the controller and Sectira is your processor, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having a lawful basis for your analytics, for your own privacy notice, and for collecting consent where your law requires it, including before turning on persistent visitor IDs.
You can delete a website, or your whole account, at any time. Its data is then deleted from our production database.
Automatic setup and connected services
Sectira can set itself up for you. When you grant Sectira access to another provider you use, or download its WordPress plugin, you authorise Sectira to make those specific changes in your accounts. Access you grant is used for the request you ask for and is never stored. Sectira does not overwrite settings that already exist.
You remain responsible for your domains, DNS, hosting and websites, and for your agreements with those providers. Check changes before you rely on them, and remove the tag and anything Sectira added if you stop using Sectira.
Ask AI
Ask AI answers questions using a summary of your website's reports, processed by a third-party AI model. Answers can be incomplete or wrong. Check important numbers in your reports before you act on them. Daily question limits depend on your plan.
Our service and intellectual property
Sectira, including its software, tag, design and documentation, belongs to us and our licensors. These terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service during your subscription. If you send us feedback, we may use it without any obligation to you.
Features marked “coming soon” are plans, not commitments, and may change or never ship. Do not buy a plan for a feature that is not available yet.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Sectira fast and available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not offer a service level agreement. We may change or improve the Service over time. If we remove a major feature of a paid plan, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel and receive a prorated refund for the unused part of a prepaid period.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using Sectira and delete your account at any time. We may end these terms or suspend your account if you seriously or repeatedly break them, if required by law, or if we stop offering the Service. If we stop offering the Service for reasons other than your breach, we will give you at least 30 days' notice where possible and refund any prepaid amount for the period after it ends.
Disclaimers
Analytics are estimates. Ad blockers, browser privacy settings, network issues and the absence of cookies all affect what can be measured. Except as these terms say otherwise, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, and to the extent the law allows we disclaim all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data, even if told they were possible. Our total liability arising from these terms or the Service is limited to the amounts you paid Sectira in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud, or your rights as a consumer where consumer law applies.
Your responsibility for your websites
If a third party makes a claim against Sectira because of the content of your websites, your use of the Service in breach of these terms, or your failure to meet your obligations under privacy law to your visitors, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and losses that result, to the extent the law allows.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which Sectira is registered, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and disputes will be handled by the courts located there. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring a claim in its courts. Before starting a formal dispute, please email support@sectira.com so we can try to resolve it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using Sectira after that, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, you can cancel before they take effect.
