Why numbers differ from Google Analytics

Sectira doesn't use cookies by default. Visitors are counted with an anonymous hash that changes every day, so someone who comes back on a new day counts as a new visitor. Google Analytics uses a cookie that can recognise them for longer.

Where Google Analytics waits for consent, visitors who decline the cookie banner are not counted. Sectira doesn't need a banner by default, so it counts those visitors too. This often makes Sectira's totals higher.

Ad blockers can block either tool, and not always in the same way. Connecting your domain for a first-party subdomain helps Sectira's tag load for more visitors. See getting started.

Because the methods differ, totals won't match exactly. The trends, such as which pages and sources grow or drop, should look similar.
